The Chamber of Commerce operates a Visitor Centre, “The Gateway”, at highways 401/24 that sees 65,000 visitors per year. The Chamber is actively involved in promoting the city as a tourist attraction on the strength of the city’s architectural appeal, riverside setting and famous nature attractions (African Lion Safari & Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory). Tourists and locals also enjoy name brand outlet shopping, numerous antique shops, excellent restaurants, scenic trail systems, outdoor adventure and so much more. Cambridge was officially formed in 1973 with the amalgamation of historic Galt, Preston, Hespeler & Blair. The legacy of this union is four charming downtown districts and an abundance of services and amenities.
